We’re here to celebrate and support the quieter ones in the creative industry.

Why does this exist?

It can sometimes feel like the creative industry is absolutely filled to the brim with outgoing extroverted people. These people are incredibly valuable. They work hard and have the natural ability to stand out, always providing the much needed small talk that most introverts hate.

But a third of the voices in the room at work aren’t necessarily being heard. Simply because they are on the introverted side of the spectrum, and the majority of businesses & workplaces aren’t set up to champion or nurture these types of people.

Introverts adapt their natural way of being every day to fit into an industry that favours the bold. They work just as hard and have as many ideas to give. They make incredible leaders and managers but aren’t necessarily being noticed or promoted.

Through our meet-ups, workshops and our community. We want to help change the narrative on this. To ensure that the strengths. talents and voices of introverts are being added to the conversation, seen in our organisations and felt in the work we make.

A bit about who set this up.

I’m Em, and I’m a proud introvert which is a hard thing to be when you’re nearly 6ft tall. I usually find myself in the position of being the listener in conversations and I never get bored at home on my own.

I’ve struggled with getting recognition at work and getting my voice heard. I can feel utterly overwhelmed when it comes to meeting new people at networking events. And I got a bit fed up off feeling like I needed to be more extroverted to succeed.

We thought we’d set up Quiet Strength, to make what we wished we had ourselves. To ensure that businesses recognise the quieter voices and ideas in the room. And to ensure that other introverts see the incredible strengths they have & find ways they can stand out on their own without feeling they need to change.

I'm Juliette, on various tests I'm usually around 60% introvert, 40% extrovert. I love being social and getting to know people, but sometimes this drains my energy (whereas extroverts often say this gives them energy). In those cases, I like to recharge at home with my cats, drawing, cooking or playing video games.

I never used to give this much thought but felt that in my career I was overlooked sometimes or felt my ideas weren't heard due to me being quieter. It affected my confidence and to some extend held me back in my career.

Talking with Em, we wanted to make sure introverts are celebrated more. Plus helping the introvert be better understood and given their time to shine within teams in the workplace. Leading to greater collaboration.
